چکیده
Culicidae (Diptera, Culicomorpha) from the western Brazilian Amazon: Juami-Japurá Ecological Station. With 312 trap-hours of sampling effort, 1554 specimens of Culicidae (Diptera) were collected, using CDC and Malaise traps, in nine different locations along the Juami River, within the Juami-Japurá Ecological Station, Amazonas State, Brazil. A list of mosquito species with 54 taxa is presented, which includes three new distributional records for the state of Amazonas. The species found belong to the genera Anopheles, Aedeomyia, Aedes, Psorophora, Culex, Coquillettidia, Sabethes, Wyeomyia and Uranotaenia.

This study contributes to knowledge of Anopheles species, including vectors of Plasmodium from the western Brazilian Amazon in Porto Velho, Rondônia State. The sampling area has undergone substantial environmental changes as a consequence of agricultural and hydroelectric projects, which have caused intensive deforestation and favored habitats for some mosquito species. The purpose of this stud...

متن کاملrDNA-ITS2 Identification of Anopheles pulcherrimus (Diptera: Culicidae): Genetic Differences and Phylogenetic Relation with Other Iranian Vectors and Its Implications for Malaria Control
Anopheles pulcherrimus Theobald has a wide distribution in western Asia and is a potential vector of malaria in Iran. We have examined the rDNA-ITS2 (internal transcribed spacer 2) region of An. pulcherrimus specimens collected during the two peaks of activity (May-June and October-November) from Sistan and Baluchistan province, southeastern Iran. There were no consistent differences between sp...
متن کاملMosquito anthropophily: implications on malaria transmission in the Northern Brazilian Amazon.
Seasonal variation of adults and larvae of anophelines was studied during 2003 and 2004 in Roraima State, located in the Northern region of Brazilian Amazon. Species diversity increased with distance of capture to human dwellings. Greater diversity was found in extradomiciliary collections than in peridomiciliary or intradomiciliary. A significant association between Anopheles darlingi Root and...
